Craft-less and Art-less Gifting

Craft-less and Art-less Gifting

Our three year anniversary is in less than three weeks and I decided this time I want to make him something personal and homemade to show him how much he means to me. The previous years, I just went out and bought him his gift because I knew he needed certain things (cologne, shoes etc), but this time around it isn’t so easy. I just couldn’t think of anything to give him that mattered and meant something.

One night a few days ago, just as sleep was about to take over, I had a bright (fully awakening) idea: Pintrest. I couldn’t wait until the next day and so grabbed my phone and began looking for ideas.

And after three days of scrolling through pins upon pins of gift ideas for him (and anniversary gifts and boyfriend gifts) I realized something. All these gifts are 1) super crafty and 2) super time consuming.

First, I yawn at the thought of crafting and, other than my passion for writing, I don’t have an artsy bone in my body. Second, though I know if I didn’t mind the activity I wouldn’t mind the time it takes to create the gift, I haven’t found a single gift that I believed would be worth the hours to create.

So now I’m back to the drawing board on this one.
